Iranian shrimp exports will grow by 20 percent in the current calendar year compared to 2010, the Iranian Fisheries Organization head stated, without mentioning specific figures.

Gholamreza Razeqi told the Mehr news agency that the organization has just issued permissions for tuna imports in the current year.

He added that some 250,000 fish and other edible sea creatures are annually produced in the country. Exporting caviar fish would earn the country over $500 million by 2015, which is the end of the fifth five-year development plan, the official noted.
