Iran, Kazakhstan discuss repair and maintenance of naval ships (UPDATE)

The Iranian and Kazakh navies discussed cooperation prospects and the implementation of joint measures on protecting the ecology of the Caspian Sea, Tasnim News agency reported today.

Kazakh Navy Commander Zhandarbek Zhanzakov met with Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayar in Tehran today. The issue of expanding cooperation in education, cadet exchanges and the repair and maintenance of warships between navies was discussed at the meeting.

During the visit, Zhanzakov became acquainted with the latest technology in this sphere and visited training centres. He will also visit the Iranian province of Gilan, where he will review the fourth Anzali naval brigade serving on the Caspian Sea.
