The import of 900,000 tons of eggs to Iran has been prevented due to highly pathogenic avian influenza last Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), Chairman of the Iran Veterinary Organization Alireza Rafipur said.
Iran could save millions of dollars which would be beneficial for the country’s economy, Rafipur added, Trend reports referring to ISNA.
As a result, Iran has been exporting eggs for two months, he said.
Following the floods in Iran this year (started on March 21, 2019), 24,000 domestic animals, 50,000 bee hives, 10 million chickens were destroyed and 1,200 fish breeding facilities were damaged, he added.
