(www.irna.ir) - Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf arrived in Tehran Monday on an official visit to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.
Musharraf, heading a top-ranking political and economic delegation, was welcomed at Mehrabad International Airport here by Minister of Housing and Urban Development Mohammad Saeedi-Kia.
An official welcome ceremony is to be held for the Pakistani president at the Presidential Office by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad within the next few hours.
President Musharraf is scheduled to hold talks with President Ahmadinejad on bilateral relations, issues of mutual interest and the Islamic world as well as regional and international developments, reports Trend.
Pakistani sources said that during talks with Ahmadinejad, Musharraf will raise with the Iranian president his "peace initiative" for the Middle East.
President Musharraf's visit is seen as a continuation of the Middle East tour he made last month of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and United Arab Emirates.
