Iran Khodro exports parts to Algeria for assembly

Iran’s major car manufacturer Iran Khodro has started to export parts to Algeria in order to run an assembly line in the African country.

The parts consist of Dena and Rauna parts and the assembly line will go on stream in March with parts and the assembly line will go on stream in March with 500 Denas, said Iran Khodro Chief Executive for Exports and International Said Tafazoli, IRIB news agency reported November 16.

“In 2017 another 350 Denas will be exported to Algeria. Our plan is to achieve 25,000 Dena, Rauna, and Soren by 2020, with a minimum of 40 percent local manufacturing inside Algeria.

Completed car imports to Algeria are banned. Currently, Renault and Hyundai produce cars in the country.

Dena, Rauna, and Soren are face-off models of the French-made Peugeots 405 and 206, which Iran Khodro has been producing for the Iranian market for years.
