Three million tons of agricultural products were cultivated in Iran’s south-eastern Sistan and Baluchestan province last Iranian year, Alireza Demerde, Deputy Director of the Agriculture Organization of Sistan and Baluchestan province, said.
These products are sold in the local and foreign markets, Demerde added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
He added that the products worth 26 trillion rials (about $619 million) were sold during the reporting period.
Vegetables and greens were among these products, Demerde said.
The agricultural area of the province covers over 150,000 hectares and 75,000 people work in this sphere, he said.
Demerde said that vegetables are planted in the southern part of the province in August.
