TEHRAN, Iran, July 28. Development of Iran's free zones is possible by compliance with prerequisites that are in the interest of the country, said Minister of Economic Affairs and Finances Ehsan Khandouzi, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.
The parliament research center will provide the data and the necessary features required for the development of free zones," he said, adding that the research center has access to the ministry's statistics.
The Iranian government policy is to increase both foreign and domestic investment in the free zones.
Khandouzi proposed the establishment of joint free zones between Iran and Turkiye during Tuesday's meeting of the Turkish-Iranian High-Level Cooperation Council.
The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has recently approved the establishment of offshore banks in free trade and industrial zones. The administration will provide tax incentives to drive investments to Iranian free trade zones, especially from major trading partners such as Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Russia, the UAE, India, and China.
