President of the European People's Party (EPP) Wilfried Martens has today arrived on a working visit to Tbilisi. As Martens told journalists at the airport, he will hold several meetings including with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in Tbilisi.
Georgia's ruling party "United National Movement" is a member of the EPP.
It should be noted that on Martens's invitation President Saakashvili took part at the EPP congress 10 days ago, which was attended by leading politicians and leaders of the Western Europe countries. At the congress, Martens spoke about Georgia in detail and expressed support on behalf of the party.
