Georgian President remains as chairman of party "United National Movement"

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has remained as chairman of the party "United National Movement" . It was announced on Saturday at the fifth congress of the party, led by Mikheil Saakashvili.
Secretary General of the Party remains former Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili , who is in custody.
The governing body of the party became the political council, which included 68 people .
Chairman of the executive committee became presidential candidate of the party and leader of the parliamentary minority David Bakradze.
The party passes on democratic principle of leadership and now it will be a party that will initiate country's democratic innovations, Bakradze said.
He stressed that "UNM" is the only party in Georgia, which has identified and named the presidential candidate not by secret way but by primaries carried out in all the regions of Georgia.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has attendedthe congress.
More than 10,000 delegates have gathered in palace of sports.
