Georgia intends to import cheaper fuel from Turkmenistan and thereby decrease prices in the domestic market, Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze told journalists on Tuesday.
According to him, fuel from Turkmenistan to Georgia is delivered through Azerbaijan.
"Azerbaijan has stated its willingness to empty space in the transit corridor for our cargo," the minister said.
According to him, negotiations with Turkmenistan are reaching their end.
"After opening the new supply market, we will feel the freedom of this market and I don't exclude the possibility of a reduction in fuel prices," Kaladze stressed.
