Tbilisi, Georgia, Dec.2
By Nana Kirtzkhalia -Trend:
The Bureau of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly has approved two draft documents at a session that took place in Tbilisi.
One of them is a joint communique of GUAM countries and its partners.
"The document clearly reflected problems related to the settlement of conflicts," GUAM Secretary General Valery Chechelashvili told journalists on Dec.2.
GUAM was established by several post-Soviet countries in 1997 during the EU presidential summit in Strasbourg. In 1999, Uzbekistan joined the organization and left four years later. A decision was made to rename GUAM 'The Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM', at the body's first summit in Kiev in 2006.
