In accordance to the decision of the Board of Directors of the French Office for Protection of Refugees and Expatriates (OFPRA), Georgia, Albania and Kosovo have been transferred to the list of safe countries.
Countries where freedom, democracy, rule of law and human rights are ensured are considered as safe countries. Citizens of these countries will not be able to get political asylum in France. However they will be able to individually apply to OFPRA and will not be allowed into the country until the completion of consideration of their applications.
Some 18 states have been included on the list of safe countries of OFPRA.
