Georgia sees growth in residential property price index

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 24

The Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) in Georgia in the fourth quarter of 2021 increased by 2.1 percent compared to the third quarter of 2021, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

According to Geostat, the annual increase amounted to 1.2 percent, while the index change amounted to 8.5 percent, compared to the 2020 average.

The RPPI covers the market of new residential property in Tbilisi, both apartment buildings and private houses.

Meanwhile, the prices for apartment buildings in the fourth quarter of 2021 increased by 2.3 percent, compared to the previous quarter of 2021, and by 1 percent, compared to the same period of 2020.

The prices for private houses in the reporting period of 2021 increased by 1.6 percent, compared to the third quarter of 2021, as well as compared to the fourth quarter of 2020.
