Georgia’s wine exports in January 2022 amounted to $14.6 million, which is an increase of 69.7 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($8.6 million), Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
However, the same figure slightly decreased by 0.6 percent, compared to January 2020 ($14.7 million), and by 35.9 percent, compared to December 2021 ($22.8 million).
Meanwhile, Russia ranked first among main importers of Georgian wine in the reporting period of 2022 with $8.7 million worth of imports. This figure increased by 55.3 percent, compared to $5.6 million in January 2021.
Poland is second on the list. Georgia’s wine exports to the country in January 2022 totaled $1.3 million, which is an increase of 57.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($825,230).
Ukraine ranked third among Georgia’s top destinations of wine exports in the reporting period of 2022. The exports to the county amounted to $1.1 million - an increase of 30.1 percent, compared to January 2021 ($845,470)

Georgia’s total exports in January 2022 amounted to $331.3 million, which is an increase of 47.6 percent, compared to $224.5 million over the same month of 2021, and by 23.6 percent, compared to $267.9 million in January 2020.
