BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 23. Turkish Cargo, which operates with the fleet of Turkish Airlines, became the leading cargo carrier in Georgia in February 2022, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Turkish Cargo transported 557,330 tons of freight through Tbilisi International Airport in the reporting period of 2022.

Continental Airlines is the second largest air carrier in Georgia in terms of cargo transportation. The airline transported 184,999 tons of cargo in February 2022.

Cargolux, the air carrier from Luxembourg, which carried 163,410 tons of cargo through Tbilisi Airport, ranked third among main cargo carriers in the reporting period of 2022

Georgian Airways Cargo ranked fourth position with 150,655 tons of cargo transported through Tbilisi Airport during February 2022.

Another Georgian cargo carrier, Geo Sky, ranked with 75,029 tons of cargo transported through Tbilisi Airport in the reporting period of 2022.

Meanwhile, the total volume of cargo transported through Georgia’s Tbilisi Airport in February 2022 increased by 27 percent, compared to 1.4 million tons over the same month of 2021, to 1.8 million tons.

Currently, the only Georgian airport that serves cargo flights is Tbilisi Airport.
