UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arrived in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Friday, to discuss a UN-backed tribunal probing the assassination of Lebanese former prime minister, the unrest in Syria and the attacks on the UN Interim Force in Lebanon among others, Xinhua reported.
Ban, who has met with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman upon arrival, is scheduled to talk with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Najib Mikati and officials from Western-backed March 14 alliance, in his three-day visit.
The UN chief is scheduled to hold a news conference Friday evening.
