"Egypt's National Front", which unites dozens of political parties of liberal-democratic leanings, urged the military authorities to adopt a new "Constitutional Declaration" before the second round of elections for a new president, according to local television reports.

"It is urgent to correct mistakes made during the transition period, first and foremost being the lack of a Constitution", reads the statement by the "National Front", The Voice of Russia reported.

The second round of presidential elections is to take place in Egypt between June 16th and 17th of this year and will see the former prime minister under the regime of Mubarak Ahmed Shafik going up against the candidate of the "Muslim Brotherhood" Mohammed Mursi.

The transfer of power from the military to the new head of state should occur before the beginning of July of this year.
