Libya's military prosecutors Wednesday imposed a travel ban on Mustafa Abdul Jalil, the head of an interim council that ruled the country after Moamer Gaddafi's overthrow, pending an investigation into the mysterious death of a rebel commander, dpa reported.
Abdul Jalil headed the National Transitional Council until it handed over power to an elected assembly in August.
He is to appear before a military court on February 20 to answer questions related to the killing of rebel commader Abdel Fattah Younes, said a source at the military tribunal.
Younes, who was Libya's interior minister under Gaddafi, defected and joined an armed uprising that ended Gaddafi's 42-year rule last year.
Younes was killed in July 2011 in mysterious circumstances after being recalled from the front line for questioning by revolutionary authorities.
