Talks on Israeli soldier release to be launched next week

Talks on release of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit between Israel and Palestinian movement HAMAS will resume next week, Sinhua agency reported with reference to Israeli media.

Representative of Israeli commission on release of Israeli soldier Hagay Hadas will arrive in Cairo next week to hold talks with head of Egyptian intelligence Amr Suleyman, Israeli television said.

Shalit was captured during attacks of HAMAS on Israeli block post in 2006. Palestinian movement under mediation of Egypt agreed to hold talks with Israel. Talks between Israeli plenipotentiary during talks general Gilad Amos and Egyptian representatives were held in Cairo on July 9 to complete document on release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange of Shalit.

Amos and also discussed prolongation of long-term armistice between HAMAS and Israel broken after military operation of Israel in the Gaza sector in December-January.
