( dpa ) - Unemployment in Australia fell to a 33-year low of 4 per cent in February, figures released Thursday showed.
The creation of 37,000 jobs in the month follows 13,000 new openings in January.
Booming demand for the nation's minerals from China and India means only around 500,000 out of a workforce of around 10.5 million are still looking for work.
BIS Shrapnel economist Frank Gelber said the additional jobs were not just in mines. "We've got the minerals boom, but we've got more generalized business investment driving the economy," he said.
