Mariah Carey cancels radio interview

(showbizspy.com) - Mariah Carey lived up to her Pop Diva title this week - after canceling all of her interviews on British radio stations because she's "not a morning person".

Mariah, who partied at London hot spot San Lorenzo until 3am earlier this week to celebrate knocking Leona Lewis off the top of the American charts with her 18th No1 single Touch My Body, told her assistants to make the excuses to furious radio bosses.

One of the entourage reportedly told the Capital breakfast show that "she's not a morning person".

And then national radio station BBC Radio 1 was forced to re-schedule her 11am interview until Thursday, after they were told there was a logistical problem in getting her four-car entourage there from Claridge's.

The singer, 38, is in the UK to promote her new album E=MC2.

A source at London's Capital said: "We had made sure we complied with her list of demands. We even got a load of straws in because she only drinks fruit juice through a straw.

"We can't always wait around for guests, no matter how famous they are. We are working to tight schedules."

Mariah also demanded a $20,000 gym next to her hotel suite and insisted on eating only olives and nuts during her stay.

And last night she banned reporters from the filming of Channel 4's The Friday Night Project.

A radio source said: "She wants control over all her radio and TV interviews and demanded they were pre-recorded so she can cut out the bits she doesn't like.

"Usually celebs don't mind people in the audience, but Mariah was worried in case she fluffed up."
