(showbizspy.com) - After giving up on adopting a second child from Malawi, Madonna has decided to adopt a child from India, it has been revealed.

The singer, who made the decision not to adopt another Malawian tot after getting frustrated with red tape, has her heart set on an Indian tot after a New Year holiday there.

Sources close to the the 49-year-old superstar said she would fly out to choose a baby after she finishes promoting her new album.

And Madonna's husband, film director Guy Ritchie, is said to have agreed to the plan after they put a string of rows behind them.

Madonna - who turns 50 this year - and Guy, 39, took kids Lourdes, 11, Rocco, seven, and adopted Malawian son David, two, to India in January.

The family reportedly met with top Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrkar - who has adopted an Indian baby.

Sandip said: "We spoke about how there are so many children in India who need homes."

A source told British newspaper The Sun: "Madonna was very taken with Sandip. He told her there were orphans who would melt her heart. Guy was against the idea, but when she wants something, she gets it."

The two-year bid to adopt David - which was recently finalized - was said to be "very stressful".

The source added: "Guy thought Madonna was mad to want to go through it all again.

"He has always been unsure about adoption as his own mother was adopted and had negative experiences of that.
