Russian security arrests more anti-Kremlin demonstrators

Russian police Thursday arrested more than a dozen demonstrators in the ongoing standoff between the Kremlin its critics, dpa reported.

The demonstrators were carrying placards protesting against the 15-day jail term imposed on former deputy premier Boris Nemzov in the mass arrests of protesters carried out a week earlier.

At least 13 demonstrators were arrested on Thursday, the Interfax agency reported.

Meanwhile Russian parliamentary deputies were cited as telling their American colleagues to quit criticising Russia, accusing them of "interference in its (Russia's) internal affairs."

The remarks came as an apparent response to criticism by US Senators John McCain and Joe Liebermann over the "shameful and outrageous" arrest of some 120 protesters, including Nemzov on New Years' Eve
