Ukraine's President marks Kyiv liberation

(ForUm)- Victor Yushchenko laid flowers on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kyiv's Glory Park to mark the 63rd anniversary of the capital's liberation from Nazi occupation, which is offcially celebrated on November 7, reports Trend.

Parliamentary Speaker Oleksandr Moroz, Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky, ministers, members of parliament and WWII veterans attended the event, president's press office reported.

They observed one minute of silence to honor the dead soldiers. The orchestra of the Honor Guard of Ukraine's Defense Ministry performed Ukraine's anthem. Six volleys were fired. The Honor Guard officers marched.
