Anti-terrorist operation held in Istanbul

The Istanbul police conducted an anti-terrorist operation against members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Turkish media reported on Feb.7.
The police carried out searches and detained 10 people. All of them are citizens of Turkey.
Other details of the operation are not reported.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for more than 30 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
