Top 5 Turkey’s border checkpoints in terms of cargo transportation

In September 2019, most of the cargo was transported in Turkey from checkpoints of Kapikule on the border with Bulgaria (Edirne province), Gurbulak on the border with Iran (Agri province), Hamzabeyli (Edirne province), Ipsala on the border with Greece (Edirne province) and Sarp on the border with Georgia (Artvin province), a source in Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND) told Trend Nov. 14.

“In September, 5,546 trucks transported cargo through the Kapikule checkpoint, which is 1,137 trucks more compared to the same period in 2018; and 5,417 trucks transported cargo through the Gurbulak checkpoint, which is 1,024 trucks more compared to September 2018,” the report said.

In September 2019, 2,401 trucks transported cargo through the Hamzabeyli checkpoint, which is 619 trucks less compared to September 2018.

“In September 2019, 1,062 trucks transported cargoes through the Ipsala checkpoint, which is 306 trucks less than in September 2018,” the report noted. “At the same time, 5,417 trucks transported cargo through the Sarp checkpoint, which is 4,829 trucks more than in September 2018.”
