Value of 9M2020 Russian-Turkish cargo movement disclosed

The volume of transshipment of goods from Russia across the ports of Turkey surpassed 39.3 million tons in the past nine months of 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo shipment from Russia by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.8 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – over 31.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, more than 5 million tons of cargo were transshipped by ships flying the Russian flag, and 1.6 million tons from Russia were transited via Turkish ports.

From January through September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment via ports of Turkey made up 270.5 million tons.

More than 21.7 million tons of cargo were transshipped over the reporting period by ships flying the Turkish flag.

Over the first nine months of this year, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 10 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 238.7 million tons, the ministry said.

During this period, 54.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 31.1 million tons. In this month, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag exceeded 2.76 million tons.

At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to over 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 27.4 million tons.

More than 6.23 million tons of cargo were transited in September 2020 across the Turkish ports.
