The trade turnover between Turkey and Iran decreased by $2.7 billion from January through December 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $2.8 billion, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend on Feb. 23.
"Turkey's export to Iran amounted to $1.8 billion while import from Iran - $1 billion," the ministry said.
At the same time, trade turnover increased by $86 million in December 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $384 million.
"Turkey's export to Iran amounted to $254 million while import from Iran - $130 million," the ministry said.
Turkey's trade turnover amounted to $388.9 billion from January through December 2020.
During the reporting period, Turkey's export decreased by 6.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $169.5 billion.
Turkey's imports increased by 4.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $219.4 billion.
Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $40.2 billion in December 2020. Export increased by 16 percent compared to December 2019 up to $ 17.8 billion. Import increased by 11.6 percent compared to December 2019 and amounted to $22.4 billion.
