Turkey records 4M2021 decrease in number of labor migrants to Azerbaijan

The number of job seekers from Turkey in Azerbaijan has notably decreased in the first 4 months of 2021, the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) told Trend.

Over the reporting period, the number of Turkish citizens who visited Azerbaijan through the agency to find work plunged by 90.9 percent compared to 4M2020.

In total, 9 Turkish citizens visited the country via ISKUR over the period from January through April 2021.

Totally, 3,810 Turkish citizens went abroad via the agency, which is 7 percent less year-on-year.

In April 2021, 100,369 citizens were provided jobs through this agency in Turkey. Some 30 percent of the total number of employed citizens accounted for women and 70 percent for men.

Over the reporting month, 99.1 percent of the total number of citizens provided with jobs accounted for the private sector. The number of unemployed in Turkey made up 2.91 million people, 48.3 percent of whom are women, and 51.7 percent are men.
