Turkey records rise in Adana Airport's cargo, passenger traffic for 8M2021

The cargo turnover of Turkish Adana Airport from January through August 2021 grew, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend on Sept.20.

According to the ministry, this indicator amounted to 25,658 tons which is growth of 49 percent on annual basis.

In the first eight months of this year, cargo turnover on domestic flights via the Adana Airport amounted to 19,297 tons (increase of 44 percent on annual basis), and on international – 6,361 tons (rise of 67 percent), the ministry said.

During the specified period, the passenger traffic at the airport exceeded two million people, which is a growth of 20 percent on annual basis. The passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 1.8 million people (growth by 22 percent), and on international – 193,951 people (increase by four percent).

Meanwhile, according to the ministry, the number of flights performed via the airport was 22,133, up by 30 percent compared to the first eight months of 2020. At the same time, the number of flights operated on domestic routes was 20,218 (increase of 33 percent), and on international lines – 1,915 (five-percent rise).

The passenger traffic at all airports of Turkey from January through August 2021 exceeded 75.5 million people, and the turnover of goods – 2.09 million tons.
