Following the meeting in a limited format, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif held negotiations in an expanded format in Baku Oct. 14.
Nawaz Sharif thanked President Aliyev and said it is great honor for him to visit Azerbaijan.
Baku has become a beautiful city in the past 10-15 years, said the Pakistani PM, adding that it is amazing that such a progress was achieved in less than 15 years.
He added that Baku is one of the cleanest cities he has ever seen.
Nawaz Sharif also recalled his visit to Azerbaijan in 1998 and expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani president for the warm reception.
He also congratulated the president and the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day.
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif noted that the people of Pakistan appreciate the foresight of Azerbaijan’s late president Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan's progress, development, and President Ilham Aliyev’s wise leadership.
Azerbaijan has achieved remarkable progress in the last 25 years, he added.
He also said Azerbaijan’s development and success are a source of pride for all the Muslim countries and is an example for many developing countries.
