The volume of investments made in the field of oil and gas in Georgia for 2 years, exceeded $135.4 million, said the report of the ministry of energy of Georgia.
In 2013-2014, the country produced 80,000 metric tons of oil and 11.6 million cubic meters of gas, according to the report.
At present, drilling operations in Georgia are conducted on 25 licensed blocks, said the report. The agreements on the three license blocks were signed in Georgia during the reporting period.
Some 12 companies conduct drilling operations on the oil license blocks of Georgia.
Jindal Petroleum (India), Frontera Resources Georgia (USA), Strait Oil and Gas (UK-Australia), Georgia Oil and gas (Georgia), Ninotsminda Oil Company (Czech Republic), Vectra Investment Private Limited (India), Canargo Norio (Czech Republic), Canargo Nazvrevi (Czech Republic), Marine Resources (Romania), ELENILTO (Israel), Trans Atlantic (UK-Australia), Strait Oil and Gas (Adjara) (UK-Australia) are among the companies that have received licenses for conducting drilling operations at the Georgian National Oil Agency.
