The oil and gas company Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited, registered in Singapore, has conducted the overhaul of wells in the Turkmen fields of Goturdepe, Barsagelmes, Keimir, South Gamyshlyja, Turkmenistan’s Oil and Gas Complex said in a message.
Over six years, 980 operations were carried out at wells, as a result of which, more than 1.7 million tons of oil were obtained additionally, said Oleksandr Kucheruk, the company’s representative in Turkmenistan.
The company has been operating in Turkmenistan for more than ten years. In November 2014, a contract was signed with the Turkmengeology state corporation for seismic exploration in the coastal and transit zones of the Caspian Sea, as well as processing and interpretation of the received data.
Particularly, it is the Northern Goturdepe field and the adjacent central and western sections of the Goturdepe field, where 3D seismic survey was carried out on a total area of 420 square kilometers.
“Currently, we are starting work at the Barsagelmes field, where 3D seismic survey will cover 345 square kilometers,” noted Kucheruk.
Moreover, 2D seismic work will be carried out in the Darja territory.
As it is known, over the past few years a number of wells have been drilled at the Northern Goturdepe field, which produced big volume of industrial oil.
According to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy, Turkmenistan produced 12.7 million tons of oil in 2016 that is by 0.4 percent less than in 2015.
The Turkmenoil (Turkmennebit) state concern is the main producer of oil in the country.
