Iran's Imam Khomeini Petrochemical Plant's workers held a protest action in the Mahshahr town, Pana News quotes the National Iranian Oil Company's (NIOC) official website.
Over 1,500 temporary workers of the plant demanded better working conditions and renew their temporary contracts.
The plant director Mohammadhuseyn Zarif met with the protesters, talked with them and promised that their demands will be fulfilled, after which the people dispersed.
Last autumn Iran's government decided that all state agencies should improve the situation of temporary workers and transfer them to permanent contracts.
