Recently Poland hosted a meeting of the National Security Bureau (NSB), dedicated to the project on Odessa-Brody-Plotsk oil pipeline construction, said Director General of Sarmatia International Pipeline Company Sergei Skripka.
Odessa-Brody-Plotsk pipeline is part of the Eurasian oil transportation corridor, of which participants are Azerbaijan, Georgia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of State Property of Poland delivered reports on the pipeline project.
According to Skripka, after the meeting, the President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski said he was going to recommend the new government to be formed as a result of parliamentary elections in October to make a final decision on the implementation of Odessa-Brody-Plotsk oil pipeline project.
The base for making specific decisions should be created by the outcome of negotiations with leaders of other countries - participants of the project, which Komorowski plans to conduct soon.
National Security Bureau Stanislav Kozeya said following the meeting that the realization of the project by 2016 is still possible. So, now the task is to get confirmation of partners from other countries that the project will be repaid.
Skripka expressed confidence that the attention and support by the Polish President will enable the future government of this country take a positive and unambiguous decision regarding the project on Odessa-Brody-Plotsk oil pipeline construction.
"Not only Sarmatia, but also all participants of the project from other countries have been expecting such a decision for a long time," said Skripka.
Sarmatia was created by Ukrtransnafta and the Polish PERN Przyjazn company on July 12, 2004 to attract investments to design and complete the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline to Plotsk.
Sarmatia's participants include SOCAR, the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation Ltd. (GOGC), Ukrainian Ukrtransnafta, Polish Przedsiebiorstwo Eksploatacji Rurociagow Naftowych Przyjazn SA and Lithuanian AB Klaipedos Nafta.
