Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 8 / Trend Aliyev /
Price of Azerbaijani gas specified in media sources with reference to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia Kakha Kaladze does not reflect the real cost of supply.
This was said by Kaladze himself on the phone to Trend.
According to him, the numbers in media reflect the average price considering the supply of Azerbaijani gas from Shah Deniz through South Caucasus gas pipeline, gas supplies by SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and fuel received from transit of Russian gas through the territory of Georgia.
"We are not only importing gas from Azerbaijan (SOCAR gas), we get some of it from transit of Shah Deniz gas, transit of gas from Russia... in the aftermath, the price is $186 (per 1,000 cubic meters," - Kaladze said.
Thus, a figure of 186 per 1,000 cubic meters is the average price for Azerbaijani gas received from all sources, said Kaladze.
Currently, Georgia receives gas from Azerbaijan from two sources. First, gas from condensate field Shah Deniz, supplied by a consortium of foreign companies, second, SOCAR gas.
