Israeli delegation on visit in Azerbaijan

Deputy Director General of Israeli Foreign Ministry and head of MASHAV - Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation, Ambassador Daniel Carmon and director of the agency's training department Matti Cohen are on a three-day visit in Azerbaijan.

The main purpose of the visit is strengthening relations through MASHAV in order to develop cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel, including projects and training programmes, Daniel Carmon told journalists on Tuesday.

"We believe that development and cooperation is integral part of the relationships between the two countries," Carmon said.

"We came here for a meeting with the top officials of the Azerbaijani government. I met with the Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Health Oqtay Shiraliyev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and also many high level officials within the government of Azerbaijan," the ambassador noted.

Carmon stressed the very strong ties between the people and governments of Azerbaijan and Israel and noted that the visit has been fruitful.
