The State Committee for Work with Religious Organisations and the Centre for Religious Studies conduct courses for religious workers and theologians, the state committee said on Jan.30.
According to the information, the purpose of the courses is to prevent the propagation of radical religious groups, effectively combat this area and properly organise, strengthen and expand religious education.
The courses that started in the last quarter of last year have already been completed in Baku, Zagatala, Shirvan and Agdash region.
In the two-day courses in the Agdash region there were more than 50 religious workers and theologians and known experts in this field making speeches on current topics.
In the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee, Gunduz Ismailov spoke about measures taken by the organisation to prevent negative cases in this field.
"One of the most important factors towards achieving these goals is the proper construction and organisation of activity of religious workers and influential theologians demonstrating a healthy position in the fight against radical religious groups," the deputy chairman said.
