Iran doesn't support terrorist Workers Party of Kurdistan (PKK), the official representative of Iranian Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast stated on Thursday at a press-conference in Astana.

Previously, mass media wrote on Iran's support to Kurdistan's Workers Party, which was announced a terrorist party in Turkey and a number of other countries.

"We deny the information of Turkish mass media," Mehmanparast said.

In his words, high ranking people in Turkey are informed on the true situation and know that PKK is supported by other countries, not by Iran.

"We live in a crisis region. Stable situation in our region is not in interests of some Western countries. They make efforts to create a conflict, in this regard, they are supporting extremist groups," Mehmanparast added.

Iranian MFA representative called People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (MEK).

"There is such group as MEK, which has murdered 16 thousands of Iranians and thousands of people in Iraq. As we know, USA and EU have recently excluded this organization from the list of terrorist groups. This also shows that these extremist groups are supported by the West, which is interested in causing tensions," Mehmanparast stated.

MEK has organised a number of terrorist acts in Iran and Iraq and is recognized as terrorist organisation in a number of countries.

In spite of this, USA is planning to exclude MEK from the list of terrorist organizations. On September 21 US State Secretary Hilary Clinton has sent a secret message on decision made on this issue to the Congress..
