Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereydoun Abbasi Davani said Wednesday that the future talks will enjoy positive outcome if representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency recognize Iran's rights, IRNA reported.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony to commemorate martyrdom anniversary of two nuclear scientists Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan and Reza Qashqaie, he said the IAEA representatives should enter future talks without prejudgment.
"The fresh talks, to be held on January 16, will have fruitful outcome if the UN nuclear watchdog is determined to lighten the realities in a fair manner and recognizes the rights of the Iranian nation," he stressed.
On the present situation of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran, the AEOI chief said the plant has joined the country's electricity network since January 4 with its full capacity.
On January 6, Abbasi noted that Iran will not give up its nuclear rights, reaffirming commitment to Non-Proliferation Treaty and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Iran and the six major world powers have held several rounds of talks with the main focus being Iran's nuclear energy program.
The United States, Israel and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Iran rejects the allegations, arguing that as a committed signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
In addition, the IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities but has never found any evidence showing that Iran's civilian nuclear program has been diverted to nuclear weapons production.
