Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is likely to visit India later this month as the northern Persian Gulf nation seeks to boost energy and trade ties with easing of sanctions, IRNA reported.

Around two years ago, Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi, minister of foreign affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited India as Special Envoy of the then President Mahmood Ahmedinejad, to hand over an invitation to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, to attend the 16th NAM Summit held in Tehran in August 2012.
