The Georgian Interior Ministry reported about a Russian militant detained in Lopota gorge, Dagestan's section of the Georgian-Russian border. According to the Interior Ministry, Russian citizen Ahmed Chatayev was detained during a special operation.
"He was wounded," the ministry said today. "Medical assistance was rendered to him. His life is out of danger.".
The Georgian Interior Ministry is searching for five other militants. They managed to escape into the gorge after the armed clashes with the Georgian special forces. After a group of militants was neutralized in Lopota gorge, three commandos and 11 militants were killed. Six individuals escaped.
