Turkey is interested in transporting cargo for the 2014 Sochi Olympics through Georgian territory, Georgian Prime Minister's Special Representative for relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze told journalists on Tuesday.
The question is about the transportation of Turkish cargo through the Upper Lars checkpoint, he said during the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's seminar in Tbilisi.
"A decision has yet to have been taken, and discussions are underway. The issue is being discussed at the expert level, however, it is interesting, as it can bring solid revenues to the Georgian budget," Abashidze said.
