Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has today received a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
Mammadyarov informed the guests about the dynamic process of development and Azerbaijan's increasing regional role, the ministry reported.
Speaking about the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,
Mammadyarov stressed the unacceptability of the current situation, as it was noted in a statement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries' leaders. He noted the importance of the withdrawal of the Armenian forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories and fulfillment of the resolutions and documents of the UN, European Union and other international organizations that also require this.
The PACE delegation stressed that Azerbaijan, which occupies an important geo-strategic position, is a significant country for Europe in terms of the energy cooperation. The committee members voiced support to a just solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
