BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. The State Historical-Cultural and Ethnographic Reserve "Khynalyg and nomadic path" will be established, Trend reports.
In this regard, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a relevant decree.
"The nomadic path, stretching over 200 kilometers from Khynalyg village in Guba district to the Pirsaat reservoir and passing through the territories of Gusar, Guba, Shamakhi, Gobustan, Absheron, and Hajigabul districts, has been an important path for centuries, used by nomadic livestock farms in the Shirvan and Guba districts. Along this nomadic route, which is still used by nomadic livestock farms, there are numerous monuments of high historical and cultural value. This path has a special place among the valuable examples of Azerbaijan's cultural heritage," the decree said.
"Guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in order to protect the territory where the nomadic path passes, taking into account its importance for the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, the creation of a unified management model and the development of tourism here, I decree:
1. The territory of the State Historical-Architectural and Ethnographic Reserve "Khynalyg" of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the territory of the historical nomadic route passing through the Gusar, Guba, Shamakhi, Gobustan, Absheron and Hajigabul district shall be declared the State Historical-Cultural and Ethnographic Reserve "Khynalyg and nomadic path" (hereinafter referred to as the Reserve).
2. To the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic within five months:
2.1.determine and approve the boundaries and buffer zone of the Reserve;
2.2. determine the special regime of the territory of the Reserve and inform the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
2.3. resolve other issues arising from this decree.
3. To the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan:
3.1. ensure the management of the Reserve;
3.2. take the necessary measures to resolve other issues arising from this Order.
4. Financing of the necessary expenses required to ensure the activity of the Reserve shall be carried out at the expense of the funds provided in the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan," the decree noted.
In total, more than 2.5 percent of Azerbaijan is under protection by the government as state reserve.
There are 15 state natural parks in Azerbaijan to preserve and protect the fauna, flora and their ecosystems: Basitchay, Eldar Pine, Garayaz, Gizilaghach, Gobustan, Ilisu, Ismayilli, Pirgulu, Shahbuz, Turianchay, Garagol, Zagatala, Shirvan state reserves, as well as Shusha State Historical and Architectural Reserve.
