Organized by Graduates of Turkish Universities public union (TUMİB), a round table was conducted on "Heydar Aliyev and education abroad". The event was attended by the Azerbaijanis getting education abroad in different years and Azerbaijani students who are now getting education in various countries worldwide.
First, the event participants performed the national anthem of Azerbaijan. The event was opened by TUMİB Chairman Chingiz Bayramov. He spoke about the initiatives undertaken in the Soviet era and after independence by the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev for Azerbaijani youth education abroad. Today, National Leader Heydar Aliyev's idea is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev," he said.
TUMİB Secretary General Hikmet Aliyev remembered the words of the National Leader: "I am proud that I am Azerbaijani".
"These words by the National Leader should be a vital principle for every Azerbaijani," he said.
According to the speakers, Heydar Aliyev is a bright personality who left an indelible mark in the history with his merits.
Heydar Alirza oglu Aliyev was born on 10 May 1923 in the city of Nakhchivan of Azerbaijan. Being elected at the Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan in July 1969 as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev headed the Republic. During the period of his leadership in the country, Azerbaijan has become one of the leading republics for economic development in the USSR. Coming to power for the second time during the period of independence, Heydar Aliyev made an enormous contribution to the development of Azerbaijani statehood. Exactly during the period of his power, Azerbaijan, withdrawing from serious political and economic crisis, got on a path of successful development.
