The regular meeting of the Commission set by presidential decree "On measures to strengthen social protection of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan" dated December 28, 2011 has been held, the Ministry of Finance reported on Monday.
Describing the situation on the tasks assigned to the Commission by order of the head of state, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said, the housing through state funds of the military personnel serving in the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan more than 20 years has begun.
It was noted, that the Commission's decision is aimed, in the first place, at soldiers who have served and been wounded in combat zones.
The meeting reviewed a new list of soldiers with service period of 20 or more years and impeccable service in the armed forces submitted to the Commission. Upon specifying a list of soldiers-candidates for housing, it was decided to provide apartments through public funds to 337 soldiers.
Thus, to date, the Commission decided to provide housing in Baku and regions to 411 soldiers, and of these soldiers, 50 have already been provided with housing.
