Azerbaijani gymnasts win gold medal in mixed doubles

Azerbaijani gymnasts Ulyana Dyakova and Anatoliy Leonov won their third gold medal in the Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics Disciplines taking place in Baku March 4-6.
In today's final of the static exercises among mixed doubles, Dyakova and Leonov scored 27.206 points and left behind the German team that had gathered 26.329 points. Bulgarian mixed double won the bronze medal.
The Azerbaijani team also won in rhythmic gymnastics taking the second silver medal in group competitions.
They also scored 16.833 points in the exercises with three pairs of clubs and two hoops.
Russian gymnasts again won the gold medal, while the Latvian team took third place. Azerbaijan's second team took the fourth place.
Today completes The Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics Disciplines where 133 gymnasts from 22 countries participated in both the all-around and individual competitions.
Such well-known gymnasts, as two-time absolute world champion Yana Kudryavtseva (Russia, rhythmic gymnastics), Olympic silver medalist Filip Ude (Croatia), European champion Alexander Shatilov (Israel, both - sports gymnastics) and other athletes came to Azerbaijan's capital Baku for the competition.
What makes this event special is that it will be held on the same scheme with the First European Games. Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics Disciplines will set a precedent in the history of gymnastics and a great opportunity for the masters of aerobics and acrobats to compete together with rhythmic and artistic gymnasts and trampoliners.
