BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. German BIWE is currently implementing a large-scale project of dual vocational education in Azerbaijan in close cooperation with the State Agency for Vocational Education and the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, Dual Vocational Education & Training Expert Project Manager at BIWE for Azerbaijan Mehmet Cakar said, Trend reports.

He made the remark during the event on the "Cooperation between Festo Didactic SE from Germany and Azerbaijan for the modernization of vocational education" theme.

"Two educational institutions (the Baku State Center for Vocational Education for Industry and Innovation (BSIIVEC) and the Center for Vocational Education under the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones of Azerbaijan) can offer high-quality, market-oriented and technologically modern initial vocational training in the professions of ICT and automotive industry," he said.

He noted that the education program provides for three years of training.

"In today's rapidly changing landscape of technical education, it is very important to keep up with the latest technological trends. This is the only way to ensure that the qualification training corresponds to changing realities of qualification requirements. In this regard, BIWE, in cooperation with Festo Didactic, organized a seminar in Baku to accelerate the implementation of new methods of vocational education in Azerbaijan," Cakar said.

He added that continuous education and skills development of employees are absolutely necessary to solve industrial problems.

"Courses to improve skills, as well as to prepare for digital transformation, are becoming increasingly important. A recent seminar gave an answer to the question of why the German dual education system is so successful and why it is a prototype for vocational training in many successful economies," Cakar added.

According to him, the development of skills in both educational and working environments, along with the ability to work independently, is a fundamental part of basic and additional training.

BIWE was founded in 1971 and since then has been providing vocational training and projects to high German standards from a wide range of fields in Germany and around the world.

BIWE is an umbrella organization with almost 4,000 members (private companies, chambers in Germany), 950 employees (local and international), 50 branches and 3 fully equipped vocational education centers.
