BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Human remains were found on the side of the Aghdam highway on the territory of the village of Saricali in Azerbaijan, Fellow of the Institute of Archaeology, Ethnography and Anthropology, anthropologist Vusal Hasanov told Trend.

Excavations were carried out on the area of 50 square meters after receiving information on the territory.

"Human remains (at least four people) were found at three different points at a depth of 40 to 50 centimeters above the current ground level. All other data (information about injuries, gender, etc.) will be determined by experts in the laboratory conditions," Hasanov said.

“The location of the remains in completely different parts, as well as the fact that the remains are incomplete (some body parts have not been found), it can be concluded that these people were killed and then simply thrown to the side of the road due to the nature of this mass burial," he said.

A mass grave was discovered in the village of Saricali of the Aghdam district, liberated from Armenian occupation after the Second Karabakh War. It is assumed that the persons, whose remains were found, were killed and buried by Armenians in 1992.
